Painter

Level/Salary Range: $17.00/hr – $28.00/hr DOQ

Job Summary

The Painter is responsible for various activities in support of operations on various project sites, including site preparation, safe and quality application of paint and other materials and clean-up of the job site. The Painter works with assigned crews regarding planning, site preparation, application, and clean-up of assigned work sites. Painters report to the Painting Superintendent.

Role and Responsibilities

Follow company policies. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Monitor and maintain quality standards.

Analyze, diagnose, and propose solutions to production hurtles.

Essential Functions of the Position

Prepare work sites for Safe and Quality application paint and other materials.

Safely perform paint and material application in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company policy and regulations.

Clean up work site and secure all tools and materials when job is completed.

Analyze, diagnose and propose solutions to production hurtles.

Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA/CalOSHA’s General Industry Standards.

Skills, Abilities and Experience

Experience in a dynamic construction site environment including quality control systems, personal protective equipment and quality control methods.

Experience using paint quality checking tools such as crosshatch mil gauges, etc.

Must be able to troubleshoot product related problems.

Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Education/Training, and Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent .

Valid California Driver’s License with the ability to obtain Commercial (Class B with Air Brake and Hazmat Endorsement) within 90 days of hire. Clean driving record.

Paint / Coatings experience: 5 years strongly preferred.

Construction experience: 3 years strongly preferred.

Must be able to pass the “Live Scan” background check required by DTSC and the Department of Justice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud depending on other equipment being operated in the vicinity.
