EHS Specialist
Job Summary:
The EHS Specialist provides environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support for PARC facilities and operations and supports the implementation of PARC’s EHS programs. This position serves as a liaison between employees and PARC’s internal and external customers on matters of EHS. The EHS Specialist assists the Director, EHS in the administration of PARC’s EHS services and activities. This position conducts EHS audit support, incident response, corrective actions, support for injured employees, and acts as a resource for PARC’s internal and external customers on EHS matters.
Role and Responsibilities
• Conduct EHS audits of PARC worksites and facilities
• Inspect safety equipment such as fall protection, ladders, and fire extinguishers
• Assist with accident investigations
• Calibrate equipment
• Prepare EHS samples for laboratory analysis
• Log employee exposure monitoring data and communicate findings with affected employees
• Assist the Director of Environment, Health, and Safety with reviewing and updating safety policies and procedures and with initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate EHS risks
• Assist with employee safety orientation and training on safety policies and procedures
• Assist with maintaining company permits and certifications
• Prepare and revise EHS guidance documents for field personnel
• Assist with the administration of the safety incentive program for employees
• Prepare and collect EHS exposure monitoring media (e.g., sample cartridges, chain of custody documents)
• Conduct EHS sampling and measurements (e.g., noise level monitoring) as required and review personal air sampling results
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative respirator fit tests
• Ensure personal safety and the safety of coworkers by safely performing all duties in accordance with company policy, regulations, and all applicable health and safety regulations
• Perform initial quality control review of EHS-related records and documents
• Maintain EHS records required by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
• Maintain EHS-related documentation of third-party suppliers (e.g., laboratory certificates, landfill permits)
• Prepare occupational exposure assessments for review and approval
• Update third-party vendor qualification systems (e.g., ISN, Avetta)
• Prepare EHS work plan submittals in support of current and future projects
• Initiate and review progress of workers’ compensation claims and act as a liaison between PARC, the insurance carrier, medical providers, and employees
• Support the Director, EHS, to prepare for company-wide safety meetings
• Other duties as assigned
Skills, Abilities, and Experience
• Prior experience in environment, health and safety field strongly preferred

• Strong sense of responsibility; takes ownership of job duties

• Bilingual – English and Spanish strongly preferred
Education/Training, and Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a safety science, human resources, or a related field strongly preferred
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Hazmat and safety training certifications strongly preferred
